On April 15th, May 13th, and June 10th, the beautifully-appointed Brooklyn Museum promises to turn up the heat with three sizzling shows. It’s really a three course meal, each night features a completely different sound. The appetizer includes California rockers New Villager, followed by indie electro goddess MNDR, (such a perfect pairing). “…MNDR (a peculiar acronym of her name (Amanda Warner), which she chose for its “techno-y” sound), a group she formed with producer Peter Wade, which has been favorably compared to Santigold” (Esquire).
For a main course, there’s Men and a side of Savoir Adore. “…this NYC indie band’s gorgeous stripped-down brand of dream pop is catching on fast” (NYLON). If you still have room for desert, Theophilus London who’s music has a classic hip hop vibe blended with new wave soul, is the perfect ending. “London embraces one of hip-hop’s old-school traits, mad networking, and that’s had a major influence on his genre-hopping sound” (SPIN).
Doors at 7PM, RSVP: audiophile@thelmagazine.com
