Right now in a vibrant little Texas city called Austin, technology, film, and music are rubbing elbows at SXSW.  If you’re a music enthusiast that finds yourself stuck in NYC this week, there’s HARD Weekend on March 18th and 19th. Terminal 5 will play host to Crystal Castles, Destructo, Simian Mobile Disco, Skream and Bengs, Fake Blood, and Blondes. If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket for the 18th, you’ll witness one of our favorite electronic acts – Crystal Castles. Their sophomore album, Crystal Castles II, takes 8-bit sound to a whole new level of Atari magic.

There will definitely be glowsticks flying, fists pumping, and bodies shaking as acts like Simian Mobile Disco and Blondes take the stage on the 19th. Simian Mobile Disco’s latest masterpiece is “An album of tech-house instrumentals based around slow builds, minimal melodies, and wide-open, between-beat negative spaces that sounds almost completely alienating outside a dancefloor context…” (Pitchfork). So while you’re wishing you were enjoying 75 degree weather, eating fresh grilled burgers and drinking free PBR, there’s always HARD Weekend to lift your spirits.
